Overview

The WS502-J is an all-in-one weather sensor measuring wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, and integrated silicon solar radiation. A drop-in replacement for the Lufft WS502, the WS502-J is an updated model built on the same trusted Lufft platform, reporting data every 5 seconds instead of every minute. Built for Air Quality and Meteorological Observation, the WS502-J is a performance-ratio sensor that measures irradiance data without the need for a separate radiation sensor, serving as a core weather station with onboard radiation capabilities built in and tipping bucket or PT1000 / NTC sensor connectivity. Now you can measure more, maintain less with the WS502-J.

The J-Series is a drop-in replacement for legacy WS units, sharing size, weight, mounting, cable connections, available protocol formats and interfaces, and software across the platform. One calibration reference, one spare pool, one standard.

Reduced Risk, Improved Self-Diagnostics

The WS-J's incorporates improved house-keeping functions, live heating-voltage monitoring, and automatic self-diagnostics to catch a failing component before it corrupts the rest of the instrument and finally your decision-making data set.

Wind and Radiation Monitoring in One Device

The WS502-J includes a WMO compliant wind measurements up to 75 m/s in range including standardized wind gust calculation. It is combined with a solar radiation, air temperature, relative humidity and air pressure measurements. Making it an ideal instrument for environmental, health and security applications. An external tipping bucket sensor or an external PT1000 / NTC sensor can be connected.

Low Lifecycle Cost by Design

With built-in Si radiation sensor and ultrasonic wind sensing, the WS502-J has fewer failure points. The new aspirated radiation solution ensures lifetime performance and the single sensor, single cable connection drops total costs of ownership over the full life of your sensor's deployment.
