The recently updated OTT SVR 100 (Surface Velocity Radar) sensor includes new benefits like stronger compatibility with networks and more trust in data via several data quality indicators.
The OTT SVR 100 surface velocity radar for open water measurements now has new features that we would like to introduce to you in a free live webinar.
The Surface Velocity Radar OTT SVR 100 now comes with an integrated SDI-12 interface making it the ideal sensor to collect surface water velocity measurements.
One of the most important challenges, when designing monitoring facilities in remote locations, is resilience. Remote tide gauge systems operate in extremely harsh environments and require robust communications systems that almost never fail and are capable of storing large amounts of data locally as extra protection for data. Scientists from the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) are therefore upgrading the South Atlantic Tide Gauge Network (SATGN) to include the latest low power dataloggers with built-in satellite telemetry capability – the SatLink 3 from OTT HydroMet.
All new OTT sensors provide a bus-capable interface, either SDI-12 or the RS 485 based OTT SDI . The special Master Modul of the OTT netDL enables the connection of several sensors to every bus (SDI-12 or OTT SDI). Connect for example an OTT Pluvio² and a Lufft WS510 sensor to one OTT netDL and you get a compact, efficient weather station. Just talk to your personal contact at OTT Hydromet to learn more.
The following Tech-Tipp shows exactly how you connect several SDI-12 sensors to an OTT netDL step by step.
