The Kalesto Radar Sensor is designed for continuous unattended monitoring of surface water level. Compared with conventional level measuring systems (pressure probes, float operated or ultrasonic systems) the installation and handling of a Radar Sensor is remarkably cost- and time-effective. Cost saving owing to low maintenance requirements and simple, inexpensive installation.
- No stilling well or inlet pipe required, ideal for rivers containing a lot of sediments, debris, etc. and sites where construction work would damage the hydraulic system.
- The sensor can be easily moved, e.g. when changes in water cross-section (low flow) occur, compared to stations with a gauging shelter and stilling wells or inlet pipes.
The 12V DC power supply and the low power consumption enable the sensor operation in remote areas without power line. |
